Lifetime attribution and the 60-day cookie

How referrals are tracked, how long the cookie lasts, and what lifetime commission actually means.

Attribution is how CoinProp decides which affiliate gets paid for a trader. Two things govern it: the 60-day cookie that decides whether a trader is attributed to you at all, and lifetime attribution that decides how long you keep earning from them.

The 60-day cookie

When someone clicks your tracking link, a cookie is set in their browser for 60 days. If they create a CoinProp account within that window, they are attributed to you.

They do not have to buy anything in those 60 days. The window applies to sign-up, not to purchase. Someone who clicks your link, signs up on day 3 and buys their first evaluation six months later is still your referral.

Lifetime attribution

Once a trader is attributed to you, every evaluation they ever buy pays you commission. Not just the first one.

This is the main structural difference between CoinProp and most affiliate programs, which pay on the first sale and nothing after it. Traders who stay with CoinProp typically buy more than one evaluation over time, so repeat purchases end up being a meaningful share of what affiliates earn.

Each repeat purchase pays at whatever tier rate you are on at the time of that purchase, not the rate you were on when you first referred them.

What lifetime does not mean

Lifetime attribution runs for as long as you are an active affiliate in good standing. It is not a permanent claim that survives you leaving the program, and it does not transfer to anyone else.

If you stop promoting, you do not lose your referrals. After the three-month buffer you move to the idle rate of 10% and keep earning that on the traders you already referred.

Your discount code and attribution

Your discount code attributes a trader to you in the same way your link does. This matters for audiences who hear your code in a video or a podcast and type it in at checkout rather than clicking through, since there is no cookie involved in that path at all.

Checking your referrals

Your affiliate dashboard shows clicks, conversions and earnings in real time, so you can see which referrals have been attributed to you without contacting anyone.

FAQ

What happens if someone clicks my link but signs up 90 days later? The cookie has expired, so they are not attributed to you. The 60-day window applies to sign-up. They can still be attributed to you if they use your discount code at checkout.

Does the 60-day window apply to signing up or to buying? Signing up. Once a trader is attributed to you at sign-up, there is no deadline on when they have to buy. They could buy their first evaluation months later and it still pays you.

What if someone clears their cookies before signing up? Cookie-based attribution depends on the cookie still being in the browser at sign-up. This is why your discount code matters: a code entered at checkout attributes the trader to you regardless of cookies, devices or browsers.

Do I keep earning from a trader if I leave the program? No. Lifetime attribution runs for as long as you are an active affiliate in good standing. It is not a claim that survives you leaving, and it does not transfer to anyone else.

Can a trader be attributed to two affiliates at once? No. Each trader is attributed to one affiliate.

How do I check which traders are attributed to me? Your affiliate dashboard shows clicks, conversions and earnings in real time.
