Most affiliate programs hand you a fixed discount code and tell you to make it work. CoinProp lets you set your own, and lets you decide how much of your commission funds it.
Your commission is the budget
You can discount up to your full commission rate and no further. A Standard affiliate on 20% can offer up to 20% off. A Growth affiliate on 30% can offer up to 30% off. An Elite affiliate on 40% can offer up to 40% off.
Whatever you give away comes out of your own cut, not CoinProp's. What CoinProp receives is the same either way, which is why the choice is yours to make.
Worked example
A Growth affiliate on 30%, promoting the $199 Professional evaluation:
- Keep it all. You earn $59.70. The trader pays $199.00.
- Split it, giving away 15%. You earn $29.85. The trader pays $169.15.
- Give it all away, the full 30%. You earn $0.00 on this sale. The trader pays $139.30.
Even at a full giveaway you still earn your normal rate on every evaluation that trader buys afterwards, because attribution is lifetime. Giving away the first sale can be a deliberate way to win a competitive audience.
Naming your code
You choose the code yourself when you are approved, so it can match your channel name or whatever your audience already recognises. A memorable code matters more than it looks: people who hear it in a video or a podcast will type it at checkout rather than clicking a link.
Why the code matters for attribution
Your tracking link relies on a cookie that lasts 60 days and lives in one browser. Your code does not. Someone who hears your code, opens CoinProp on a different device a week later and types it at checkout is still attributed to you.
For audio and video audiences, the code is usually the more reliable of the two.
FAQ
Can I discount more than my commission rate? No. Your commission is the ceiling. A Growth affiliate on 30% cannot offer 40% off.
Does giving a discount cost CoinProp anything? No. The discount is funded entirely from your commission, so what CoinProp receives is the same whether you give away nothing or everything.
Can I change my discount later? Contact support at [email protected] to adjust your code or the discount attached to it.
If I give away my whole commission, do I earn anything at all? Nothing on that particular sale. You still earn your normal rate on every evaluation that trader buys afterwards, since attribution is lifetime.
Does my discount go up automatically when I move to a higher tier? Your ceiling goes up, but the discount itself does not change on its own. Moving from Standard to Growth means you can now offer up to 30% instead of 20% if you choose to.
