Is there a maximum risk per trade on CoinProp?

No cap on risk per trade, no floating loss rule and no mandatory stop-loss — and what does constrain you.
Updated 1 week ago

No. CoinProp does not cap how much you can risk on a single trade, does not impose a separate floating-loss rule, and does not require a stop-loss. What constrains you is your Daily Loss Limit and your Max Loss Limit, plus a hard cap on position size.

What CoinProp does not restrict

  • Maximum risk per trade. None. You choose your own size.
  • Mandatory stop-loss. None, at any stage.
  • Floating loss. There is no separate unrealised-loss rule.
  • Time limit. None. Take as long as you need to pass.
  • Strategy. Scalping, swing and every style are permitted.
  • News, weekend and overnight trading. All allowed.

What actually constrains you

Your drawdown limits. Both the Daily Loss Limit and the Max Loss Limit are enforced on equity, so unrealised losses on open positions count toward them. See How does drawdown work at CoinProp? for how each one works.

Position size. Position size is capped at Bybit's maximum market order quantity for each pair, enforced when you submit. An order above that cap is rejected outright rather than partially filled, and the limit for the pair is shown in the order confirmation panel. Within that cap, your ceiling is your available margin multiplied by your chosen leverage.

Leverage. You set your own leverage, from 1x up to the maximum for the instrument: 5x on BTC, ETH and SOL, and 2x on altcoins, commodities and stocks. Using maximum leverage is never required.

Why the absence of a cap is not a licence to over-size

Both drawdown limits are equity-based, so a single position can breach an account before you ever close it. A trade moving far enough against you will hit a limit on unrealised loss alone. The absence of a per-trade cap means the sizing decision belongs to you, not that the account is harder to lose.

FAQ

Is there a maximum risk per trade? No. You decide how much to risk on any single position. The only limits are your Daily Loss Limit, your Max Loss Limit, and the position size cap for the pair you are trading.

Do I have to use a stop-loss? No. A stop-loss is never required, at any stage. Many traders use one, but CoinProp does not mandate it.

Is there a floating loss rule? Not a separate one. Both drawdown limits are enforced on equity, so unrealised losses on open positions already count toward them.

Can a single trade breach my account? Yes. Because the limits are equity-based, a position moving far enough against you can hit a limit before you close it.

Is there a limit on how large a position can be? Yes. Position size is capped at Bybit's maximum market order quantity for that pair, and orders above it are rejected outright rather than partially filled. Within that cap your ceiling is available margin multiplied by your chosen leverage.

Do I have to use the maximum leverage? No. You set leverage yourself, from 1x upward. The maximum is available, not required.

Are there restrictions on when I can trade? No. There is no time limit on the evaluation, and news, weekend and overnight trading are all permitted.
