A breach closes your account immediately. This applies to both evaluation and funded accounts. When a breach is detected, all open positions are closed automatically and you lose access to that account. Any profit in the account at the time of breach cannot be withdrawn.
What triggers a breach
Your account is breached when either of the following limits is hit:
Max Loss Limit (MLL) — your account equity drops to 6% below your initial balance at any point. On a $10,000 account, this means your equity hits $9,400 or below.
Daily Loss Limit (DLL) — your account equity drops to your DLL floor for that day. The DLL floor is set each day at 00:00 UTC based on your current equity minus 3% of your initial balance.
Breaches are triggered on equity — meaning unrealised losses on open positions count. If a trade moves against you enough to hit either floor before you exit, the account closes even if you have not yet closed the trade.
What happens immediately after a breach
Two things happen automatically:
- All open positions are closed immediately
- Your account is disabled and you lose trading access
What happens to your profit
Any profit sitting in the account at the time of breach cannot be withdrawn. Profits already paid out in previous payout cycles on funded accounts are yours to keep — a breach does not affect withdrawals that were already processed.
You can view your full trading history and account record at any time under account lists on your CPX dashboard. Your history is never deleted.
How to start again
You can purchase a new evaluation at any time after a breach — there is no cooldown period. You pay the full evaluation fee for whichever account tier you choose. There is no penalty or restriction on how many times you can restart.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I withdraw my profit before the account is fully closed after a breach? No. Once a breach is triggered the account is closed immediately. Profit remaining in the account at that point cannot be withdrawn.
- Does a breach affect my other accounts? No. Each account is independent. A breach on one evaluation or funded account does not affect any other accounts you hold.
- Can I see my trading history from a breached account? Yes. Your full account history remains visible under account lists on your CPX dashboard even after a breach.
- Is there a waiting period before I can buy a new evaluation? No. You can purchase a new evaluation immediately after a breach at any time.
- Do I get a discount on a new evaluation after a breach? No. A new evaluation is purchased at full price for whichever tier you choose.
- What if I think my account was breached incorrectly? Contact CoinProp support with your account details and the relevant trade information. Breaches are reviewed in context.
- Does a breach on an evaluation affect a funded account I already hold? No. Evaluation and funded accounts are separate. A breach on one does not impact the other.
