Open positions live in the Positions tab below the chart on the Trade screen, each row showing size, entry price, liquidation price, unrealized P&L and current TP/SL. Closing is done from that row - or automatically by a TP/SL you have set.
Closing at market
Use the Close action at the right-hand end of the position row. The position is closed with a market order at the best available price. You can close the full position, or enter a smaller size first to close only part of it and keep the rest running.
The closing side is a normal fill: the 0.03% trading fee and live slippage apply, and any funding accrued on the position is settled when it closes. All of it is itemised afterwards in Position History under Total Costs.
Closing everything at once
Close All, above the positions table, closes every open position in the account at market. It is the fastest way to go flat.
Automatic closes
- Take Profit / Stop Loss - if a TP or SL level is hit, CPX closes the position with a market order on its own. See the Take Profit/Stop Loss article for how to set levels.
- Account rules - if the account reaches a loss limit, open positions are closed automatically as part of the breach process. The account bar and on-chart monitors show how much room you have at all times.
After the close
The trade moves to Position History: realized P&L, entry and exit, timestamps, total costs, and markers showing whether a TP or SL did the closing. The Journal action on each row lets you write a note about the trade while it is fresh, and the export icon downloads your history. Individual fills are listed under Order History.
FAQ
Can I close only part of a position? Yes. Set the size you want to close before confirming - the remainder stays open with its TP/SL intact.
What does closing cost? The same as opening: 0.03% on the closing fill plus live slippage, with funding settled at close. The full breakdown appears in Position History.
Is there a way to close every position at once? Yes - Close All above the positions table closes all open positions at market.
Where do closed trades go? Position History below the chart. Each row keeps the complete record - P&L, costs, TP/SL hits - and its own Journal note.
