CoinProp Orders

CPX supports market and trigger orders. Learn how each works, why a trigger order is not a limit order, and what each one costs.

CPX supports two order types: market and trigger. You choose between them in the order panel on the right of the trading screen.

Market order

A market order executes immediately at the current market price. It prioritises certainty of execution over price. You are filled at the exact tick showing at that moment, and the real-world cost of an order that size is charged separately as a slippage fee.

Trigger order

A trigger order sits inactive until price reaches a level you set, then fires as a market order. It is how you set up an entry in advance rather than watching the chart and clicking manually.

The important distinction is that a trigger order is not a limit order. It does not rest on the order book waiting to be matched at your price. It waits for your trigger level, then executes at market, which means the fill happens at whatever the market is doing at that moment.

There are no limit orders on CPX

CPX does not support resting limit orders. Both order types execute at market, so both are charged the same 0.03% per side. There is no maker rate and no cheaper order type to route around it.

Choosing your order type

In the order panel on the right of the trading screen you will find buttons for each order type. Click the one you want to use. Take Profit and Stop Loss are set separately and can be attached when you open a position or added afterwards from the Positions panel.

FAQ

Can I place a limit order on CPX? No. CPX supports market and trigger orders only. If you want to enter at a specific level, use a trigger order, but be aware it executes at market once triggered.

Is a trigger order the same as a limit order? No. A limit order rests on the order book and only fills at your price or better. A trigger order waits for your level and then executes at market, so your fill reflects the market at that moment rather than your specified price.

Do market and trigger orders cost the same? Yes. Both are charged 0.03% per side, plus the slippage fee on the fill.

Can I set Take Profit and Stop Loss on a trigger order? Yes. TP and SL can be attached when you place the order, edited from the Positions panel, or dragged directly on the chart once the position is open. See Take Profit/Stop Loss.

Why does my fill price differ from my trigger price? Because a trigger order executes at market once your level is reached. In a fast-moving market the price can move between the trigger firing and the order executing.
